I'm all set up to pin baste the layers of my wall hanging. Now, this is my question: :?:

Does it matter which way the safety pins go into the fabric. In other words, should you pin horizontally or vertically into the fabric?

It doesn't really matter, If I have a quilting design already placed on it, I try not to place the pins in it. For anything less than 36", I use 505 spray and no pins at all.

I've been placing pins the way you suggested for years, and since I'm a self-taught quilter I thought I would get someone else's opinion too.

Thanks for your input. :)
