Has anyone hand quilted with a thread called glazed? Ive been looking at these threads and they are expensive but would be worth it if they didnt ravel or tangle while handquilting.

I've never heard of glazed, but will be watching the thread to see what others who have used it have to say. I've always used Thread Heaven to coat my quilting thread.

Yep, glazed threads are for hand quilting, eliminating knotting and tangling. I've never used it, so can't say from personal experience. They are not for machine quilting.

Yes, I have. It should not be used in your machine.

It's great thread for handquilting. I also use beeswax to coat some threads.

YLI hand quilting thread on the wooden spool/cones is an example of a glazed thread. We sold hundreds of spools in my shop, it was/is very popular in some regions.

Joannes has glazed handquilting thread that I've used. I liked it. I believe the brand was Americana.

it is only for HAND work..and it a dream to work with....I got tons of in Germany in many colors, but here you hardly find it any more. I think YLI has some but not many color choices!

I've never heard of it or used it. I have a wheel of beeswax that has slits to run the thread through and coat it.
