The photos on Washington Post don't stay very long, but I will provide the link here just in case you are able to catch the article.

    sorry can't get this link.

many organizations now make quilts for soldiers.

Here is one called Operation Quiet Comfort. They want quilts that are no more than 3ft by 5ft, quilted not tied and other rules so that the medical equipment isn't hampered by the quilt.

Also we must remember our young men and women all year long not just during the Holidays.

Many organizations say that they are bombarded with goodies during Thanksgiving and Christmas, so much so that they can't use everything that is perishable. They ask that goodies be sent at odd times of the year.

oh and one more thing. The soldiers love to have beanie babies to pass out to the local kids. It is good PR for them, gaining trust of the children, and they love to see the smiles.

So if you have unwanted beanie babies laying around and send 'care pkgs' , please include them.

For some reason when I do a search for my quilt pics, I can't get them to come up. I am pretty pleased with how it's come out, so for anyone who wants to see them, here is the link: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-79932-1.htm
