i took cabnest from a doctors office and put them in my sewing room for canbnets and use kitchen counter top to my sewing room and office cabnest for under the counter. and use one extra bedroom for my sewing room. did i do ok in recycleing lol

Earthbound Farms (I'm sure there are other brands in other areas) sells salad greens, spinach, etc. in large, rectangular tubs. I wash them and use them to store fat quarters. The lids make them stackable and I have one for each color. They make quite a nice display for the quilting room!

Hi Lucky Lindy! I have an addiction to Maple Twist Rolls, made by Nickels Bakery. The addiction aside (LOL!), they are now packaged in a plastic rectangular container. The lid is connected making it one piece. These are great for storing small projects, wip, such as a table runner, etc, or just smaller cuts of fabric/s for a project. Gerber baby food now comes in small, plastic, rectangular containers with lids; these are great for buttons, snaps, straight pins to take to a sewing/quilting class! Needless to say, I now have quite a few! (LOL!!) Happy re-purposing! Patty

When I replaced my dishwasher, I kept the utensil holder and use it for scissors, markers, whatever will stand up in it.

I have a hanging purse bag over the front of the door to my sewing room and I have lots of fabric in it. Pretty large pieces, too. I'm in the process of transitioning to wrapped on comic book boards, but the purse holder worked for about 10 years and I may still use it for something else.
I have a set of plastic drawers next to my sewing desk a little lower. On top of that is the small ironing board so I can turn from one to the other and press without getting up.
I use a picnic holder for keeping scissors, rotary cutters, skewrs, oilers, all kinds of things in where the silverware and napkins would go.
