Stop looking for it and you will find it.

Look in the freezer. I found my tampons there once.

I hate when that happens. I know I have just seen what I need and will get back to it but when I get back to is somehow it's not there so I give up and buy another and then it magicly appears or put it on my mental list of MIA's then one day out of no where it's right in front of my eyes.

Ever since I was a little girl I have lost things and my mother told me that Mr. Nobody must have moved it. Sounds like he lives in your house too. It's not about age, it's Mr. Nobody!

I love the gremlins -- they seem to hide just what I need when I don't have time to look for it. I had to buy more fabric for a project because I put it away too well.

For your reds -- I would wet a small piece in warm water, put it on a paper towel with something heavy on top (a jar of pickles) and let it dry. If it bleeds then you know you have to get the excess color out.

After a 1/2 box of color catchers and 4 washings, I ended up with red fabric that wouldl be perfect for older traditional patterns where a bright red wouldn't work. Since I plan on making an Underground Railroad quilt someday, these will be perfect. I only lost a couple of the red/white pieces. I finally got tired and threw it all in the dryer.

I would suggest to anyone planning on using the red/white combo in a quilt to read, read, read, the pros and cons of Retayne and Synthralpol before starting your project.

Happens to all of us, especially when we are multitasking and trying to answer three different children with three different
questions. I once put a bag of carrots in the kitchen broom closet, thinking it was the refrigerator?? I found them the next day, but it was too late for supper the night before.

Color catchers are great and available at the grocery store or at WM. I am sorry that happened with your read and whites. I feel your frustration.
