I have one of these on all my machines , I can just pop them in as I sew and it's alway's in the same place lol, so i can't miss. Well most of the time, they still seem to like the floor best but I just pick them up with my magnet on a stick, my hips do not like me going on the floor and won't let me up again. :)

I like this idea, but worry that the pins might scratch through to the machine if there was not a plastic insert to stop it. I first saw the idea on the Martha Stewart show and she had a pattern for one.

I've seen similar pin cushions on old estate sale commercial machines and always thought they were a little disgusting looking, but this one is so pretty! NOW I get it!

Great idea. Thanks for pointing this out. She is selling these in her Etsy shop for $5 which seems reasonable enough. I recognize this is easy to make, but I don't know when I would get to it and for $5, I'm happy to support her. I don't think there are any left on her site, but I imagine if someone wants one and emails her, she would whip up another one. Thanks again for pointing this out.
