Recommendations for a free standing bobbin winder
I would like to purchase a free standing bobbin winder for size M bobbins, long arm machine. I have talked to the closest dealer which is 2 hours away and have been told I can purchase any brand of free standing bobbin winders and that it will work on any brand of machine. They offer the Gammill free standing bobbin winder for $150. Since they are a bit of a drive, I'd like to know if any of you have any suggestions or recommendations for a winder. Thanks!

I have one from FancyQuilt. Looks like the older (and less expensive) version is no longer available... New one is same price as gammil's. Very nice people to work with, however, and the winder works wonderfully.

I have been using that little Side-winder that's sold in fabric stores (about $25.00). It works for me and my Innova. It stops winding at the standard bobbin width, but I just press the little button to wind it for another 12 seconds. It doesn't necessarily wind the bobbin to full.....but it works for me. I have the original one that came with my Innova, didn't work very well. I have seen the new one and it works slick...but I'm sticking with my $25.00 one for now. I'm a fan of "if it's not broken, don't replace it). Good luck with whatever you decide to get!

I have the winder from APQS....it is for my "L" bobbins...was expensive but it's fantastic...I have a George Sit Down machine, I'm sure it would work for "M" bobbins also...very well built to last...happy I got this one...
