My sister uses little boy jeans to make adorable totes ... cuts legs off to use for straps ... leave pockets in place, lines it, adds all kinds of cute embellishments ... adorable! I'll try to get a pix to post.

I have two large totes full of old jeans, hope to get at least two quilts made this coming winter for my grandsons. I also have lots of flannel to use in them.
Here's an older thread with a lot pics of other denim projects: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-102015-1.htm

I've made one jeans quilt for a grandson and have since cut many pairs of jeans into 6 1/2sq and have a huge bucket full, also saving some of the pockets and labels to use for embellishments when I make more denim quilts. I have a variety of denim in many colors of blues as well as green, burgundy, beige etc. Looking forward to doing something with it all.

Using recycled jeans is a great idea for our young ones going off to college. I had my granddaughter have all her classmates sign her jeans to incorporate their names and messages as part of her quilt.
