removing frixion pen
#21
The only suggestion I have to remove the Frixion pen is to try Dawn dish soap. I haven't tried it but it removes a lot of things. Also try Shout? I did a demo at guild a few years ago about marking methods. I used several colors of Frixion pens a lots of other things that are recommended online. I used 10 different fabric. On all of the fabric the pen disappeared with an iron. I then washed it and put it in the freezer. On most of the fabric it didn't reappear but it did on some.

I really like the Frixion pens. Pink is my favorite. I mark lightly. Spritz the quilt top with water and roll it in the dryer to get the marks off.
I did have one quilt that the marks kept coming back for about 2 weeks in the winter time, but it's completely gone now.

Haven't tried Frixxion pens, but I did do a test with Crayola washable markers. I took a piece of the fabric I used for the sashing on my Plaid Obsession Quilt and made marks with each color. Washed it and was surprised to find that the blue washed out the best, followed by black. Orange and pink were the worst. So, this leads me to believe that certain colors of Frixxion would be easier to remove than others. I will never use something to mark a quilt without testing it first. I have learned from the heartbreaking stories told here.

The best way to remove the Frixion pen is to put it in a place where it will be used only for marking on paper, or removing it completely out of your house. I don’t understand with all the negative reports why quilters are still using them.
