    Also- there are a lot of little holes here and there that I didn't photograph. My sister *does* use it every night in bed so she doesn't want it to just be put aside. I'm the one who thinks we need to fix the holes before they get any bigger. She wanted to zig zag them closed.

    Lots of great ideas. i think since this is a well used and is intended to continued to be used quilt, the idea of a new back and binding may help increase its useful life. Since the batting is already quilted the new back can just be tied or machine tacked in place.

    It is a lovely quilt and the effort from your repair will be more asthetically pleasing than the zigzag stitches.
