Default Quilt idea.

I was looking at this fabric and I thought of making a quilt with string set butterflies on it. Or just one gigantic one, made out of piano key stripes.

actually, I like it so much but my youngest dgd loves, Lovges purple and
butterflies. Do you know the name of the fabric?
Course I could make my own on purple fabric couldn't I, but it looks like
it might be flannel.

It's pretty fabric...not sure of scale of print but it is almost like an ombré type fabric. Are you thinking of leaving it a whole cloth background then placing shapes on top of it? Those always looks so neat with an applique pattern over the whole cloth as a background. It's really colorful and you have lots of options. I have a bunch of ombré panels I haven't cut into yet because I'm still playing with ideas. You can play and audition your ideas before deciding.

I agree. You can play around and see. Maybe make one block and see what you think.

This was just bought from Joann's. It's fleece and I already cut off the edges so I don't know the pattern. I did learn that one should "not" go into a fabric store with a stubborn three year old, lol. I have no ides what she'd going to do with the fat quarter she "had" to have. I should video these things, we might end up famous, lol.

That is an excellent idea! I'll do it after I finish the baby quilt and the new quilt of the antique pattern and get the repaired GFG quilted. As UFO lists go, mine is not too bad.
