For binding strips especially, or any relatively narrow strips, I wind them around empty spools and have them in a large glass vase in my sewing room. Looks nice, and is occasionally useful.

I really think that's a great idea. I've been doing a lot of sewing and quilting these past 6 months getting ready for a craft fair this Sat. I have lots of "strings" that are a bear to fold, but I really like your idea.

I roll out my left over binding on empty TP rolls -- hadn't thought to do that with the left over strips, but that makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

I just use my fingers to roll them. I always have the smaller pieces on top. If I'm wrapping binding left over, I like the heavier cardboard rolls from the foil wrap and plastic wrap. Just use a utility knife if you want to cut to size to fit into your storage space if needed.

I like the idea of rolling instead of folding....sometimes creases are hard to iron out, especially if they have been buried under something heavy....like lots of stash....for a while

One of the ladies from Piece O' Cake (sorry can't remember her name) gave a class and taught us to roll up our binding tape by just folding over the first inch and then rolling up from there. It makes a firm roll and then I just put a pin in it to keep the end from unrolling. I have use that method ever since with all of my scrap strips and I put them in a clear, plastic jar. This method works wonders, as it keeps everything neat, ironed and you can see the colors through the jar. It also is very pleasing to the eye to see a colorful jar sitting on my bookshelf.

For my rectangular, triangular and square-ish type scraps, I keep them flat in a plastic box so that I can see them and I don't have to iron them again when I need to use them for a scrap quilt.

I cut up my scraps into 2" and 2-1/2" strips like you would get in a jelly roll. Sorted by lights/darks. They fit nicely in a shoe box and remind me of cinnamon rolls. Just fold over one end with shortest strips on top and roll. No wrinkles or creases when I need to use them.

terrific idea and since jelly rolls are so expensive this is a great way of creating one for a scrap project....thank you for sharing this
