I put mine in an envelope, fold it up as small as it will go, and tape all four sides with packing tape. I can toss it in the trash without worry of anyone getting cut.

This is the way I dispose of my blades.

This company will accept your used blades and give you a discount on your purchase of new ones. check their website under the "exchange" tab to get more info. Even if they don't give a discount I'm sure they'd accept your used ones.

Also - keep a few handy to use for cutting paper, etc.

I find it hard to believe that quilters would just toss the used blades in the trash - we have enough disposal problems now! My usual pharmacy is very good about accepting the old blades but I do keep them in a container until I have several, and I also add dull sewing machine needles and pins that have lost their heads. I just take them along when I return a container of used diabetic syringes.

I keep an empty small cat food can in my sewing drawer. All old blades and needles go in it. When it has a bunch, I put it in a sandwich bag and throw it out. This way there is no danger of the blades cutting thru the trash bags. Even a dull blade is very sharp!

My dad had a old medicine chest with a spot to put blades in.When we took it down to put in a new one we found all his old blades!! Lorraine

I put my blades/bent pins/needles/etc. in an empty Altoids tin. I then toss when full into the metals only dumpster at the transfer station. We do not have curbside trash pick-up. We go to the transfer station aka "dump".
