    I recommend "Steady Betty" to add to your rulers. It's a small narrow foam that sticks between the 1/4 inch marks on the rulers. It will help keep the rulers from sliding around. As for the cutter, Olfa blades work well for me. Always remember to push down toward the floor when cutting and let the cutter roll naturally.
