I had a rotating mat years ago and it drove me nuts. It was fine in the center, but when I was cutting near the edge the mat would bow down. Bad design, hopefully they've corrected that by now.
I use a regular flat mat that's 14" x 18", I just spin it around on top of my table, no lazy susan needed. 😁 Works great.

I was given a gift certificate to the LQS and splurged on an Olfa 17x17 rotating mat. It seems quite stable all over and sure makes template cutting for my DWR easier. I'm still nervous thinking that the fabric might shift on rotation but that just makes me extra careful when turning it.

I've had the Matilda round rotating mat for years now and can't imagine squareing up blocks without it. It was a life saver for me when I made my Monster Scrappy Quilt with all the four-patch blocks.

I have an Olfa 12 x 12 and also have a Fiskars 14 x 14, which I use the most making string quilt blocks for the quilting group at church to finish for quilts to be given to World Relief. With all that turning and trimming it sure makes getting those blocks done a lot easier and quicker.

I think I have the Matilda rotating mat also. I'm not home now or I'd go check
