I was thinking some kind of trim on the pillow, lace or something like that. We have a similar one at church that has elongated beads that hang from the edge. It adds just a little something.

Donna- I have made many ring bearer pillows - the problem is the stuffing  It just never wants to all be even and where "we" want it to be in the amount we need it - All you can do is play with it until it gets more of the look you want -

I do understand what you are saying you want it "Just So " and we are out own worst critics  LOL

When I did mine I found folded batting gave a smoother look than stuffing.

Its beautiful but I was wondering if you embroidered their names on it if you might like it better, just a suggestion as I really do think its beautiful as is.

Can you find a couple of "heavy" lace hearts to applique onto those empty corners? (not the frilly lace kind) The points of the hearts might soften that pointy corner. Love the idea of utilizing the sleeves from her dress for the pillow. Nobody but you is going to critique that pillow though.

Too late now but piping in that outside seam would have added to the pillow but not made it frilly.

When making a pillow such as this, try sandwiching just like you would for making a quilt and then stuff it. It makes for a smoother top and the lumps created in the stuffing don't seem to show as much. The pillow top doesn't need to be quilted and the layer of batting only adds to the stuffing.

I think it is lovely - it is the fact it matches the bride's dress - and they will notice that before anything else- besides, it is all in how the little ring bearer carries it. It's great - don't worry!

In Texas we say, "If you're looking that close, you're looking too close." I've officiated at enough weddings to say with perfect assurance that no one will see any flaw at all in that pillow. Just be sure the ring/s are not really tied to it or do have the best man carry small scissors or sharp knife to cut the ribbon. froggyintexas
