Default Runner for church

Our church has a large renovation program coming up. I would like some in put on what I would like to do to make money. I am thinking about something like a bed runner or it could on on a sideboard . I will use velvet from pews, satin from banners, etc. There is no pattern and I do want out of the box thinking. Yes, I am confused,

Sounds like a perfect mix for a crazy quilt. Not too difficult if you have a machine with decorative stitches. Rather than a bed or table runner, I would suggest making 18"X18" crazy quilt blocks, then make throw pillows, or maybe a congregation member could donate framing services and you could make smaller blocks & frame them. Or add a way to hang them for small wall art. I think you would be better off making smaller items that many members could have a keepsake of the old church furnishings. Probably sell more less expensive items than a few pricier ones.

Maybe bed runner? I am not sure I would want a runner for my buffet from fabric that had bums sitting on it? Just my opinion of course.
