This is the quilt my BIFF and I made for my son, the fisherman. My BIFF did all of the embroidery work and the strips. I sewed the borders, did most of the FMQ and the binding. This quilt would never have come to fulfillment with out my best friend, Karyn. We will be working on a similar quilt with antique cars for my other son in March. This quilt "kick started" my interest in quilting again. Needless to say, I love my friend.

My friend has the designs for her embroidery machine. I have no clue what the name of the company/design is. I just emailed her pictures of what I wanted and she found them in her huge assortment of designs.

I love it! The fabric that looks like sand, bobbers, fish and the quilting looks like ripples in the water - fantastic.

This was my first experience with FMQ. When I FMQ the blue border along the edge, I made it look like a spool of fishing line that had been dropped and un-spooled. Did I mention, "Oh, my aching shoulders." I had my shoulders hunched up. The table was too high and the chair too low. LOL

Oh my I love that. Wish I had access to something like that. Oh wait, I do. My mom has an machine that can do that. Might have to see if she can help me with some stuff.
