I'm with Liosf. Narrow dark sashing with yellow cornerstones. Unless you can contact the block maker and get more of the same fabrics for borders. I think the different fabric would be less noticeable in sashing. That would also make it big enough that you wouldn't need borders.

Include me to with the no sash vote. They are beautiful blocks as is. Don't want to distract and so difficult to match the background fabric. Let these blocks SING as is!!

What if you laid the blocks on a piece of dark fabric and "auditioned" what it would look like with sashing? That way you could try out different colors and see what looks best. The blocks are beautiful and I think a thinner sashing would showcase them better.

Add me to the no-sashing group. I agree with the 2-borders suggestion. If you want to add a bit of the cheddar, you could do cornerstones in the borders.

I also vote for no sashing but would consider as others have described--very narrow first boarder and then a slightly wider boarder in the darks. BUT, the older era such as this block describes did not use boarder and so you may not want to add boarders. It is a real beauty. Thanks for showing this.

No sashing for me. too. and especially not dark so close to the "neat colored things". It would crowd them and take away from them.

If you are bent on sashing, something dark would be good to cut down on the continuous white.
