went to a yard sale in the Hampton and found this baby would you believe 3.00 one of the panels is dated 1906!!!! it now laying nice and clean on a bed where it should be.. also got some feed sack and thirty fabric...very cool

cut up into 2 1/2 inch clean sq. with accuquilt

How pretty! Sad to see an older quilt tossed. At least you appreciate all that work! What nice patterns in the quilt.

I think the red work squares are what are called antique "penny" squares. Good save!

What a nice pile you ran into and that quilt, someone at some time probably more than 100 years ago did a lot of hand work on that quilt. It was waiting for you to come along and love it. Nice to go to estate sales and pick things up such as that. I got several dresser scarfs last week for $1.oo as they were stained. Well I want to cut off the handwork on each one and put in a quilt so it did not bother me and most of it came clean after one washing too.

I forgot to mention that the batting has cotton seeds, I can feel them
