Scary Moment with New Machine
#11
The original "jam" may have damaged the bobbin case. Can you adjust the stitch length or width? Sometimes the stitches need to be longer to work with the rhythm of the walking foot.
Can you adjust the speed of the machine? Try going slower with stitching as see if that helps.

The stitch I'm using goes forward two stitches, back one stitch, forward two stitches, back one stitch. It mimics hand sewing when we use a double thread. I'm also not going to use that stitch for a while and see if the jam happens again with something else. It kind of bums me out if there may be a glitch somewhere that's not allowing me to use that stitch, I was really liking the results when it worked but now I'm completely gun shy from using it again.

What bernina did you get. I had a similar problem with my new Bernina 570 QE, it has that big bobbin . It has jammed on my and I have had it into the shop a few times. The last time was several months ago. I still haven't tried it since picking it up from the shop. Just haven't had the heart to try it and have it jam again. I have been stitching on my 30 some year old Viking D1 which stitches like a dream but is computerized and no parts to repair it if it goes down. Also have a bottom of the line Bernina. A little 215 red machine. That one just stitches fine but nothing fancy on it.

After I posted yesterday, I did a little research on my Bernina problem. I found one thing that mentioned thread jamming and it said one of the fixes on my Bernina was to make sure that I had the latest firmware update as there had been a bug that did not put the tension on right after certain actions for a few stitches....so my suggestion to any of you who are having problems with your computerized machines to make sure you have the updated software versions for your machine. Yikes...yep...fuzzy....I also just learned that when I switched from an android cell to an iPhone, my carrier did not switch some settlings on their end to to the right settings....my iPhone worked, but I had a lot of poor connections and freezes....seems to work better now....yikes...I am not that much of a computer whiz.
