Scissors recommendation please~

Hancock's Fabric use to have the KAI scissors. When they closed shop here and had the going out of business sale I bought a package set of small kai scissors. They are good scissors especially for detail cuts. I bought the Gingher and mondial scissors sets there too on the last day of the sale for 90% off! The owner was so mad at Hancock's he was practically giving notions away. The fabric that was not sold had to doused with black oil so no one could use it. That was Hancock's Fabric rule. How terrible to know the company would rather ruin the fabric instead of donating. May have been less of a tax deduction but so much more decent. I think about the hundreds of bolts being ruined whenever I go in one of the stores now.

I have used Ginghers for years. I recently got 3 styles of Kai brand. I love them. Can be found at www.kaiscissors.com

Other than my little scissors (which are shaped like a crane) that I keep by my machine, I rarely use scissors in my quilt room, so I'm not motivated to buy an expensive pair. So I have a good, but not terribly pricey pair of 8" Fiskars that I use only for fabric and they've stayed sharp and done a great job for over 5 years now without needing sharpened. I don't know what the brand is on the little pair, but they were a gift from my mom when I started quilting, so they are priceless to me.
