I am using up my scraps, maybe adding fabrics I don't want to use in another quilt. I'm not worrying about things going together, just sewing them up.

Hancock Fabrics sell as little as two (2") inches. As for the end of the bolt pieces (remnants) if it is cotton it has it's own bar code & the other fabrics are apparel. Hope this helps.

One of the guilds I belong to has a free table every month. Members bring any scraps they don't want, and anyone can pick and choose from the table. I've found some terrific scraps, and donated some that no longer appealed to me. It's interesting that one person will pass over a scrap that another person happily pounces on. Some of the "scraps" are FQ size or larger, all types and qualities of fabric, and sometimes there are orphan blocks or even whole quilt tops.

How sweet of momto5 to offer to help you out!

You also might check whether your LQS sells fat eighths as well as fat quarters....this way you'd get 8 different fabrics per yard.

I know that there are several members on the board who would be willing to give you scraps just for the cost of the postage. Many of us have more scraps that we can ever use. Also, I don't know about your Wal Mart with a fabric department, but when we had our department, we were able to cut as little as 2" of any fabric. Our measurement chart started with 1" and went up to 36" so we were able to charge by the inch. I have a lot of scraps, just send me a private message as maybe we can arrange something.

QUOTE=mosher92;6323706]I am working on a very scrappy quilt and i was wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to get different scraps. The pieces I use are from four inches long down to one " and can be as small as one inch thick. To go to the fabric shop you have to buy 1/4 inch cuts and that just seems very expensive. I have a lot of scraps but would like to use different fabrics than what I have. Any help would be appreciated.[/QUOTE]

I've purchased scrap bags on etsy. Also lots from garage sales found on Craigslist.

Oh! another option is to go make some more quilts, then you'll have more scraps! I have a couple of ongoing scrap projects that get added onto when I get more scraps.

Honey, if you want scraps, just send me more information by PM and I will send you scraps. I have a number of those plastic shoe boxes with pre-cut 2.5 in, 3 in. 4 in, 5 in and 6.5 in squares that are just waiting for a wonderful scrappy adventure. When ever I get close to the end of piece of fabric I just cut it into some standard size cuts. It sure pays off when I do my scrappies. I would be happy to share what every size you think would be good for your purpose or if you are missing some particular color.
