Thank you for all of your feedback! I have a photo from Maui with a mama turtle and 3 littles trailing after her on the sand, which I am trying to recreate. I think I am liking the turtles more this morning. I will machine applique them without fusing them down in case I change my mind. The quilt feels “ lopsided” to me without something grounding the light corner.......

What a beautiful quilt. Makes me miss Hawaii. I'd use the turtles. Also, did you use a pre-bundle for the fabrics?

When you first showed us the quilt (without the turtles), something in me said there needed to be something else in the light area but didn't know what it could be. I think the turtles are perfect for your recreation of the picture. Can we see the picture of the one you are recreating? It's going to be a gorgeous quilt no matter what you decide on.

I suggest thinking about scale... ask yourself if the turtles are the right "size" for your quilt, and consider how they look in comparison to the rest of the quilt.
Your quilt is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

I like the turtles, when I look at your picture of the quilt, I see a Mama turtle on a beach leading her babies to the sea. Your story comes through.

I think they look adorable. If you feel more comfortable without them, go that direction. I don't think you can go wrong either way. But my vote is for the turtles!

Love the sea turtles but I would only do 3. I like an odd number better. I would do the three that are the same. But it is your quilt and you won't go wrong with 4 too. Great quilt.

I think that they are adorable. I love that they are making their way from the sand to the water.

I like it just the way you have it. Great job.

Odd number arrangements are pleasing. But I see 1 large turtle as an odd number and then the 3 babies as an odd number.

Maybe take some pictures of the quilt with the turtles some pictures of the quilt without the turtles -;and then look at the pictures?

I thought the baby turtles just hatched and went " by themselves" to the ocean?
