    Sea Turtles & Dolphins finished

Just finished this Hawaiian wall hanging from Pacific Rim Quilt Company. The first picture I used my flash and the last one I didn't so that is reason it looks darker. I have been taking a monthly class at my LQS from Nancy Chong who designed this pattern and it took about 6 months but finally finished. The entire quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilted, I found I enjoyed working on it when I was watching TV or just wanted some peace and quiet time. I plan on starting "You are in our Hearts" in red and pink next so hopefully will have finished in another 6 months and can post finished quilt (LOL).

A pretty design and quilting. Your quilting looks like ripples in the water.

Amazing. I also saw the ripples in the water. I can't imagine doing this. It's a beauty for sure. BrendaK

What beautiful and inspiring work you do!

If you are at QM on Tuesday the 10th, stop by at Open Sew to say hello. I'll be working on some Bindle Bags with a couple of friends. Would be great to meet you.

Since this quilt is only 42 x 42 in size it wasn't so big that I got discouraged, I didn't work on it daily or push myself to get it done. Nancy told us that she has worked on a quilt tops for several years before finally finishing. It is encouraging to be able to have class every month which kept me motivated. We have a small group and are all working on our own projects with Nancy. She imparts her wisdom, experience and tips to us and its a fun get together. We learned to baste with "ugly" and remove as we go so it's easy to see what has been accomplished or to thread our needle before we stop so we're ready to start again. I also learned that I can't quilt with a thimble, I quilt away from myself and not towards me and I prefer to using traditional Hawaiian finger width rather than mark my whole quilt.

Thank you everyone for looking and your kind comments.

Absolutely beautiful quilt and well worth the time to slowly work on it. Sounds like it was enjoyable to work on.

I love your quilt. It is unique and awesome and so beautiful! Taking every stitch by hand is time intensive. Can you tell me where I could buy this pattern?

That quilt is wonderful! I bet you were the star student in Nancy's classes. How wonderful you had the opportunity to learn from her. You did a fantastic job.
