Has anyone ever had a problem with the Bernina 640's thread cutter mechanism? I am having that problem which can't seem to be solved. Just curious about whether anyone else has had that problem and how to solve it. Thanks

nvb50 - I have a Husqvarna Topaz 30, (they came out with the Ruby 3 months after I bought mine). i'm kicking myself I didn't wait, as I've had all kinds of trouble with my machine. Free motion quilting is not trouble free, and the embroidery (scissor mechanism) keeps getting the thread looped around the scissors and jamming. Are you having NO trouble with the Ruby? I'm thinking of trading up but wonder if it's worth it. I love my old Pfaff but not an embroidery machine.

ChattQUilter - I'm having trouble with my scissor mechanism on my Husqvarna Topaz 30. The thread gets jammed up because the scissor doesn't retract again after the 4-6 cut when doing embroidery. It's in the shop.....again~
