Depends on the day. Today, my Janome was You SOB because she decided to unthread herself innumerable times and was in a (female dog) of a mood. Most of the time tho, she's my Honey and my Oh You Sweet Thing-I did not know you could DO that). I also have a Singer that has never had a name because I cannot think of one foul enough (and that is all about her acquisition, not her behavior --cannot say more). And I have a Janome Jem that I just call Baby because that is what she is--such a sweet baby machine.

First machine I ever named was my Gammill. We were NOT friends when I first got it...and when we DID make friends, I had said 'righty tighty, lefty loosey' so much I named her Lucy. Lucy has moved to a new home and now Jane the Innova lives here. I also have a 301 named Harriette and a FW named Betsy. (I have a Bernina, 2 more FW and another 301 who remain nameless!)

My Berninas are all named "Bernie".
They seem to know which one I'm talking to.

My longarm and frame are named Laverne & Shirley. Shirley is the longarm's name, after my mom, who taught me how to sew!

I have a Singer XL-3400 named Vesta (because I like the name), I have a Bernina 1530 named Martha after it's first owner, I have Singer 401A named Elsie after it's first owner, and I have a Juki serger name Bronwyn (because I like the name). Friends gave me the Bernina and Singer 401A that belonged to their mothers so I named the machines after them to remember them.

My 401 is Sadie. My husband's grandmother's name was Sadie and she got one just like mine for Christmas one year. Everyone called it Sadie's Singer. My other 2662 is named Fern after my DGM.

I have never named my machines...never thought about it. Now, I will not be satisfied until I come up with names! My late hubby, when I first met him, had a car named Henry. (It was a Ford)

No, but I approached both of my old machines with respect -- I have a 1978 158 Kenmore and a 1932 Singer 15-91, both are new finds for me although I have had the Singer for a long time -- love using them -- names would take a lot of thought!!
