So many good suggestions. While I agree that the lighting might very be the problem, please be aware there might be something else going on at the same time. However, I do hope you also get your eyes checked by an ophthamologist.

Too often the eye doctors don't get concerned til you tell them of your concerns.

For example: It took a few years to persuade a friend to even tell her eye doctor of her vision problems as she was afraid of surgery. Finally she mentioned it to her family who did finally admit her color choices had declined quite a bit over the years. Her eye doctor had been telling her she was 'close' but didn't need cataract surgery yet; so that meant to her she didn't need it. Well, when she finally told him her concerns he scheduled not only the cataract surgery but glaucoma surgery at the same time! She is now looking forward to getting the other eye operated on as she is now aware of the vision differences of her eyes. She also has less need for extra lighting with her machine.
