I have even done this with the top thread. My Mother and I just laugh and get tickled at each other.

The worst is when you see the warning light, decide to try your luck, run out of bobbin tread and luck, and still merrily sew on. A dollar for every time that happened could make quite a contribution to the old stash.

What's really bad is when you have acomplicated pattern and you have the colors all lined up the way you want....then you run out....and of course, the seam is always the best seam ever!
So you start over...

MyJanome has a warning beep to alert me when the bobbin is almost empty. Trouble is, it starts when the bobbin looks like it is still half full. Then every time the little thing clicks, it will tell me the bobbin is almost gone. I think all electronic machines have this feature. My Janome Jem doesn't.

Been there done that. I sewed a complicated curved seam, very carefully matching seam allowances and was so proud that I did it in one session. When I took it out, I had 3 stitches at the beginning and the rest was unsewn. Grrrrrrr! Needless to say, the second time thru was not my best sewing.
