Shoes or Not???

Hey Ladies!!! Just going through the posting. There are a lot of us that belong to the "Barefoot Sewing Club". I didn't know there were so many of us. YEAH!!!!!!
Sew in the dining room now, and there is carpet. Put I haven't run into a pin yet. Hubby has found one with his shoes on, but he only reminded me that "I should be more careful with the pins". Living up north with winters most of the year, has been interesting. Most of the time I hobble like many of you. Bob, the mailman, won't ask about the foot again, I'm sure. But it sure made my day.

Shoeless here too. In the winter, I have 2-3 prs of socks on for warmth out of habit. My compression stockings, then a pair of anklets, then a pair of fuzzy warm socks. But I have to slip on my mules (all 3 pair fit into them)to cut and iron or my legs, hips, and lower back get sore from being barefooted standing too long. Have to support the arches.

Count me in. Normally I'm always wearing my shoes, but when I sew I have to take them off. I can't get the correct steady pressure on the foot pedal with shoes on.
As for pins, I keep a magnet handy and run it over the carpet or tile in the area I'm sewing in. I got into this habit when my boys were very small. It's amazing how well a magnet works for that.
