Experience is not the issue. It's simply seeing squares and triangles laid out as you like. Graph paper does the calculations.

My vote says to keep on going because it's a job well done already, even if it is with the use of scraps. Thanks for sharing and will look forward to seeing your next project.

I just took the class to do the Labyrinth and you are close, though not exact.
it is NOT all HST and blocks...that is just the illusion!
the only requirement for this pattern is the one thing you DO have...HIGH contrast!
