Never heard of silicone thread conditioner...what brand do you buy? Where do you get it? How does it compare to thread wax?

I could have used something like wax or conditioner when hand sewing hems recently. Thanks for any info

I have a bottle and never think of using it.
It won't hurt and if the thread is breaking or fuzzing a lot--it will help those issues.

It does wonders with metallics and other specialty threads that otherwise misbehave.

My bottle says "Sewer's Aid" on it. I got it at Joann's. I think it was a Drizt product on the notions wall.

Thanks for the info on where you purchased it. - a website I checked about using silicone said to make sure you're using the right thread and needle size to start with and don't overuse the stuff.

Having the right size &/or type needle is a good place to start. If you're halfway through the spool, though and it starts breaking or you notice the thread got fuzzier, break out that little bottle.
