Default Knee lift woes

I just banged into my knee lift on a Bernina 710 pretty hard and now it is loose. The inner connection moves around. Do you know about repairs for this?

Sorry I don't, but I hope you find it a reasonable fix, as I know I would really miss mine if I didn't have it! Good luck!

Your Bernina dealer will be able to fix it for you. The knee lift on mine quit working and I took it in and they fixed it, no problem.

Thanks for your advice. Actually, I got a new rolling chair and pushed off too hard to move back to the machine from pressing some blocks.

If it is really the inside connection knocked loose, you need a dealer repair. If the knee lift piece that sticks out is bent or warped, that is a relatively inexpensive (for Bernina!) part you can buy at the shop. The knee lifts themselves are made of a soft metal that is supposed to give before the internal component, or so says my repair guy.

Thanks, Pam. I'm going to take it in next week, hoping it's not too expensive.

I have one on one of my straight stitch only machines. I use the machine a lot but, never used the knee lift. I tried it and didn't like it.

I hope they can fix it for you!! I never had a knee lift before getting my new machine and I'm already addicted to it! I'd be lost without it. I kept forgetting to use it at first but after making 22 9P using 1.5" strips, I would never want to be without it again! Developing the habit is the main part!
