    Singer Featherweight Machine from Goodwill

Several months ago, my son was looking around at the local Goodwill store. He came upon a Singer Featherweight which is in immaculate condition. It hasn't been used in a while, so he's going to go through and clean/lubricate and replace the belt. Otherwise the machine is immaculate. We thought we got a good deal on it at $50. What say you?

Wow, never get those in our local stores. They always put them up on their auction website shopgoodwill.com and then they go for hundreds of dollars.

I am surprised they didn't put it up for auction at Goodwill.com. You got a fantastic deal!

I am green with envy. I have been searching for an antique sewing machine - either electric or treadle. So far I have not found one in a price that I am willing to pay.

Your son was blessed in his find!

My mom had a featherweight and shortly after her death, my dad remarried. After his 2nd wife died, my dad died. We went through all their things and I found the featherweight. I was so excited except my step-brother said it was his mom's. In the manual it had my mom's name. He insisted it was his mom's and my older brother let him have it. Made me sick. I would love to get one just like it, but can't afford to right now. Maybe someday. Congrats on your find!

i am not sure where you live, but if able, have you been checking craigslist faithfully in your area and areas you're willing to drive to? there seems to be so many where i live $100 or less. good luck with your search. these old ladies are out there just waiting for a new home.

So excited on your amazing find!! I have three featherweights all inherited from or gifted to me over the years. I use and enjoy every one of them. I'm so excited to share that just last night I scored a $600.00 White Superlock 2000ATS serger, still almost new in the box, with many different feet, spools of thread, boxes of extra needles, for only $125.00!! Doing the HAPPY DANCE!!!
