Thank you so much!!!!

Quote: She is absolutely beautiful. Talk to Billy, lostn51 on this board. He has a thread how to clean up these machines and probably knows where you may be able to get the missing parts.
There is a tute on the tutorial thread how to refinish cabinets. Just look around and ask questions and you will get good answers.

Thank you...that is another option!

Quote: That is an awesome treadle table. You might want to pick up another machine that is in better condition and drop it in the table for sewing purpose and put the older machine up for display.

Thanks so much for the GREAT info!!!!! I will post a pic after I get it cleaned up!

Quote: My husband cleaned the chrome on mine by soaking it with W-D40 and simple green and it shines like new. We found a front plate and belt by doing a google search-there's just about anything you need for it on-line. I have a Sphynx just like your's! The cabinet cleaned up nicely with just a little Formby's (though my neighbor, who does a lot of woodworking, said it would be cheaper and just as effective to use denatured alchohol). We polished the wood using Howard's Feed'n'Wax-was easy, clean and smelled good while I was working on it! We found the manual online, and for $5.00 we found a site that let us download a repair manual. Have fun!

Thank you!!!! I know mine is a G series but where can I find the model number like 27/28 or 127/128? I will definitely check out the sites you posted. Good luck with your new home!!! I know you are anxious to get into it!

Quote: Oh this looks exactly like the machine I bought yesterday, it's stuck in our car til we get to move into our new home and I can't wait to clean it up. I'm not sure what model mine is because I can't open it up til I get it out of the car. There were a bunch of sphinx models from what I saw on the internet so it could be a 27/28 or 127/128 and I think there was even a 15 version.

These are the links to a great cleaning tutorial on this forum.

Yes, I would like to return it to it's natural glory..hopefully, I won't have to strip it.

Quote: I don't think I would strip that finish...there alot of cleaners to use on wood and it should clean up good. lots of belts on ebay plus throat plates can be found. I would just shine her up and let her live in her original glory LOL
