    I am looking at a singer 7258 and a Janome 1050 DC

Has anybody used either one of these ?? do you like/dislike and why??

It will be my second - take to quilt guild once a week for 6 months a year.

Maybe in the future I will take it to Maine and bring the FW back to WA to be my second. So it might end up being my primary SM for 6 months

    Decisions, decisions -- Mim :x :-)

If these are new machines, I would definitely choose a Janome over a Singer.

Janome - so sad that Singers aren't what they use to be.

Couldn't agree more! I bought a couple singers in the last 5 years. They were both not very good. Bought a Janome 1600 P-QC then not long after traded all the singers I had towards my Janome 9500. Haven't looked back once.

Janome wins hands down! Wouldn't want a new Singer if it was given to me! They just don't make them like they did in the past!

Go with the Janome. I have that machine as my second machine also and have had no problems at all with it.

Janome for sure. I've never used the 1050 but I've had several Janomes over the years - they've all been pretty good. In fact I just bought another one a couple of weeks ago. I'm working on getting used to it.
