when I finish a project, I do a cleanup job in my sewing room and before I get done, I find some things I need to work on.

Never have that problem, I usually have 8-10 projects going at the same time.

It helps me if I have a long-term project that's always available to pick up when other projects are finished. Right now I am working on a large Grandmother's Flowers quilt that I'm doing completely by hand. This quilt isn't promised to anyone, so there's no deadline. I find that, as I sew together the hexagons, a different part of my brain goes to work designs for other quilts.

I will never get to the bottom of my list of quilts that I want to make - I won't live that long!

You will have to tell us how you do it.

I'm glad you found something to start on. A rail fence is always nice.

Well, I doubt if that will ever happen to me!!..BUT, why not ALWAYS have a,
    CHARITY to do list.
Last year I made a quilt & pillow to auction off for the volunteer firehouses in town. I made dolls, & small fun things for another organization that helps everyone around her, called, Hugs & Kisses. I now have 2 lap blankets in process for the home in the next town, for Alzheimers patients..they are called 'fiddle quilts' because at a certain stage, Alzheimers patients must fiddle! or stop by my house & we'll get some sewing done here!!

Not sure I will ever get there, but if it happens there are lots of patterns that intrigue me.

Is there a pattern or technique you want to learn. Examples that quickly come to mind are paper piecing, (OBW)One Block Wonder, Applique, Log Cabin, landscape, etc. Pick one and go from there. There's a wonderful tutorial on here by CuteBuns on the OBW.
I can't imagine having my" To Do List" finished.
I'm usually thinking of the next project or technique I want to try before I'm done piecing the current project, much less trying to figure out what to do when it's all finished.

Use fabric you once loved and now don't and make a quilt for one of the wonderful causes you read about on QB.
