    My DDs used blankets when a small size was needed. The baby quilts were twin size.

    I agree with oversizing. Usually it's when baby is a toddler that they start to really like their quilt.

    I try to keep them no wider than 42"...that way, the backing is easier....New Moms use all different sizes for different things...do what make You feel good...
