I was checking out my sewing machine, getting ticked off because my feed dogs won't drop (never needed to do it before!), meanwhile, I'm playing with this stupid little piece of plastic that came with my machine and can't figure out what the heck it's for...turns out the dogs don't drop, but the stupid piece of plastic snaps over them!

I have one of those old antique ironing boards. I've complained that there is no adjustment on it to make it taller, and I hate to part with it. Then I had a duh, moment when I realized it was the perfect height for me to turn in my chair and press my seams and turn back around to sew again. Why didn't I think of that B 4?

After we had moved I tried out my sewing machine and found it wouldn't stitch a single stitch. Checked over and over to find what the problem was. Finally got frustrated and went to move it when the top of it came off. There's a little compartment on top that houses this shaft like gear thing that I could never figure out what it was for (and also came with an extra one) and somehow had become dislodged. Popped it back in and the machine started sewing again. Found the manual and figured out the gear thingy was the thing that lets the machine do all the different types of stitches. Have had this machine for five years and never knew that!
