I have this machine and love it. I wanted a "modern" machine after working with a vintage for years. There is a youtube series that goes through every stitch, foot, seam type, etc. for this machine if you ever need help. I have sewn so many wonderful, beautiful things on it. Every now and then I think I need a newer machine, but then I realize that I love what I have. One thing it took me a few years to figure out and it might be unique to my machine, but just FYI: I can't backstitch when it's set to 37 or 38 (1/4 inch seam) but I can with all the other settings. A new machine is exciting. I have three Brothers. A 420, 1500, and Pacesetter embroidery/sewing. No problems with either one.

I have three Brother machines. One has a lot of fancy stiches , another is also an embroidery machine and my PQ1500S. That one has the 10 inch harp. I am able to quilt a king size on it, but I usually don't do Kings anymore. It can easily do a Queen size.

I keep a piece of the rubberized shelf lining or a cut off piece of inexpensive yoga mat under my machines so they don't move around and also soften any noise, works like a charm

My light weight bottom of the line Brother -- I ended up taping it down with some blue tape and I had to do something similar to the foot pedal, think I wedged in a box or something. We were much happier when not trying to chase it like a loose dog. Didn't notice it so much with the medium level one which was still light enough to carry/move pretty easily but stayed in front of me nicely.
