I only have one going, too. If I allow myself to give into the temptation to work on the next one, then I'll never finish this one. "The next one" is always more alluring because it's still perfect... the current one is flawed because that's the nature of the beast. It's the same with every artistic endeavor.

I had to learn discipline and I now keep my WIP under 5 at a time. This way, I am more focused and accutually enjoy what I am doing more. Yes, I have many lined up in my mind but don't start another until one is finished.

I have 9 that I am actively working on. They are not UFO's and I am not going to even try to count those. I like to have quilts in various stages to work on. Also I tend to wait to "sandwich" a quilt until I have 3 or 4 to do. So I have 3 waiting to be quilted, 5 who only need the backs put together and be "sandwiched" and one that I am working on for my daughter that is in the block stage.
I will be starting another soon. Maybe I will be able to get a couple of these done before I start cutting on this one in about 2 weeks.

1) UFO a baby quilt - only needs a little more quilting and the binding
2) UFO a baby quilt - the blocks are almost finished - my first HSTs - now I do can better and finish it
3) On the machine - an auction quilt for a women's shelter being FMQ
4) A 9 patch and snowball that will have an appliqued strip inserted for my daughter's b. day (or an applique center - the design board will tell me when I get enough blocks done to arrange them
5) A 9 patch and snowball prayer quilt all sandwiched that needs the ties inserted and binding done
6) A granddaughter's wedding quilt. It came out too small and it's hard to go back when you think you're finished.
7) Fabric purchased for a wallhanging for my grandson's restraurant, but not before the birthday quilt is finished
9) My own quilt for my own couch, but it's not critical
8) Fabric purchased for a baby quilt, but I haven't received an invitation yet. I love deadlines.
10) I joined a BOM and haven't finished Jan or started Feb
I did finish a Spicy Spiral runner ths week .
Oh, oh, this may be getting outof hand.

Too many
I have about 10 in progress. That is because I hit a road block and stop. I am trying to work through all the issues. I am trying to finish one that is 12 years old. It has been ripped out at least 3 times. It was one of my first quilts and no one told me you need a 1/4 " foot. So when I got to the end (on point) the setting seams wouldn' t line up. So I tore it all apart. Then I put it all together again and the borders were all wavy. Took it all apart again because I didn't make all the blocks the same size This is it - I have to put the corners on and add the borders. I feel better venting

pattybetty, I really admire your perseverence and determination to get your quilt done and done well. I might have kept the wavy borders and just called them ruffles. LOL Anyway, good for you and please post a photo for us when you accomplish the finish of this very trying quilt. You are the victor; the quilt might have won a couple battles but you are going to win the war!!!
