I know what you mean. When working on a quilt recently with my neice and great-neice, I had to tell them a number of times to slow down in your sewing. It will make keeping the seam straight and neat easier. They were both in such a hurry. lol.

It might be the times we're living in, always pressed for time so you put your foot to the sewing machine metal pedal. A coworker heard me talking about finishing up a quilt top and asked, isn't making one quilt in a lifetime enough? She was absolutely right but obviously not a quilter! Probably a good majority of us are a making our quilts as gifts for special people and special occasions and as you see the pattern and colors coming together, you get into eager to see the whole top done. Slowing down to smell the roses isn't always easy when you are in that groove.
