Default Something For Inspiration

A few years ago, Jim gave me one of those electronic picture frames. I take a LOT of pictures when I go to shows, and I loaded a bunch into a flash drive so I could see them one after the other without having to hit a button each time. I have it running in the sewing room. I may never have the expertise to make some of these beautiful things, but it sure is fun looking at them all.

What is it that gives you ideas for your next quilt? I mean aside from magazines or going online.

My inspiration is just hours of surfing the internet for modern quilts and finding those I like and think I could do with my beginner skills!

I recently joined an offshoot of my local quilt group that is focusing on art quilts. I'm not much of an art quilt person, but I joined anyway.

We have 12 members. Each member picks a theme word for the month. We each make a 12" quilt of our interpretation of the theme word. This month's word is "green". I started out by making a quilt that focused on the color, then I had a dream about jealousy, so I'm making a second quilt, and then a third idea came to me and I plan on making that one too.

I'm really glad I was invited to be a part of the art quilt group. It has really turned on my creative juices!

I surf magazine quilt patterns on eBay and then go and turn on my EQ5.
