At least where I live, if you ask where the thrift store routes things to, they will tell you. At St Vincent de Paul, the scrubs go to the Seneca store and craft items go to the River Rd store. They are also not allowed to buy anything until it has been on the shelf for a day.

You hit the jackpot for sure. I probably would have had to have all the bags. I find many great pieces of fabric at thrift stores. I have restricted myself to buying only if on sale for a good price in the stores or I let myself go if I find nice piecs at the thrift store. I need to quit buying all together but I am addicted. I have found beautiful batiks and lots of name brand fabrics. I too love scraps and scrappy quilts. Great haul. Congratulations.

That 3-M bag was a great hit at the small group, lol now I only have about half of it left. I kept back the big piece of Timeless Treasures (the 2 yd yellow/green ivy print at the far left of the picture), 2 1-yard pieces of a metallic that I will use to make a few Stack & Whack type blocks, and the elephant print. BTW, that bag was about 6 pounds.

Today I met up with the guy from Craig's list and bought 26 pounds of mostly 80s-90s fabric from his mother's stash for $50, that was a lot of money for me going out at once for fabric, but I know my cash wouldn't go nearly so far at the quilt store. Will take "Mary's Stash" to small group with me and spread out the joy a bit more. Later today I'll go through it a bit and see if there is anything there I really get excited about first

Went back to the thrift store since I was in the general area, the big piece of Cranston yardage I hoped would still be there wasn't... but I did find another bag of stripes and such from the same person as the previous bag so I picked that up as well as another bag that turned out to be about half non-quilting fabrics -- oh well, we don't win them all. Is all good though, the non-quilting fabrics go into a bag that will be turned back into one of the thrift stores once it gets full.
