Do you use spray adhesive on baby quilts? Do you worry about toxicity?

Thanks very much!

I read that school glue is only corn starch, which is why it washes out so well. Isn't spray starch only corn starch also?

Before I started making Quilts for Kids, I called them and asked about using basting spray and they said yes. I've been using it ever since with no problems, and now I wouldn't be without it. I always wash the quilts before mailing and the adhesive comes right out. So does starch or sizing if you use it.

since the final step to finishing any quilt is washing and drying it---no i do not worry about toxic residue.
when i finish a quilt it is chemical free and ready for whomever....
i do not think there is any difference between a baby quilt and a grandma's quilt--- babies have come to my house and laid on (adult quilts) many times---
if it's not a wall hanging you should wash it when you finish it- before giving it--that way you know how it is going to come out.
i have a friend who made her daughter in law a new quilt- did not wash it= gave it...dil washed it- it came apart in a couple spots- she was devestated---and didn't want to let her mil know--mil was in a snit that when she visited the quilt was no where to be seen--after about a year- i could not 'take it' any longer and i told...
the mil why she never sees the quilt---i was tired of her really going on and on about this sweet dil she had- who just did not want to hurt her mil's feelings...
(we) got the quilt back- repaired it- regave it...mil & dil have a better relationship now- and now she always does that first wash herself- figured out it is a small step that can really save feelings.
