How lucky you are! And I like your style too.

I used Sullivans 9yucky) and decided to spray laying the quilt top over the bathroom curtain rod. Happy as a clam was I. Until abut a week later, saw all kinds of dusty stuff in that bathroom. It wouldn't wipe up! IT WS SPRAY BASTED DOWN TOO! Tried several cleaners, and found a industrial solvent that worked.

Do you have overspray? If you, what do you do about it? I would use spray basting if it could clean up after easily.

I cleaned the spray off the floor with hot water and pine-sol. I had to mop twice but it came up nicely. The duck cloth is still hanging on the wall only because I have more quilts to do. When the humidity is high I can't do any basting, it doesn't stick very well.

What about spraying outside your house and carefully bringing inside to layer on?

Yes, may need an extra person to help, but could avoid the sticky-ness and the toxic fumes.

Anyone do this? Thoughts?

why dont you put plastic bags over your feet and secure with rubber bands? then you can remove them once done...

How many of the 40 have you gotten done? I only used that spray one time and I had done it in my bedroom on the only wall that was available...NEVER AGAIN. Even though the window was opened and fan blowing that spray triggered an asthma attack so bad we had to call 911. I did like how it worked. I also had "sticky" walls. Was a bear getting that stuff off the wall.
I still have the spray and maybe sometime this summer I will use it again BUT OUTSIDE. Those quilts you did are really pretty. :) Are they all lapsize that you do?

I have a large table I use - never thought of putting my quilt on the wall!! I clean excess spray up straight away, and don't have that problem. The problem I do have is the smell! We must have different sprays here in Australia, because the ones I have tried choke me up.

Deanna I have 16 basted and 8 that are quilted. I have a friend who is has quilted 5 of the bigger ones on her mid arm and she is going to bind them too. I really don't think I'm gonna get all of them done, I may sell some as tops.
Most of the quilts are lap and baby quilts. I have a few that are full to queen sized.
I took a break from quilting this weekend because I was stressing about getting them all done and started making big mistakes. :(

I have the June taylor spray and used it for one quilt so far. It worked great at basting and I'm half way done quilting it and no problems so far. My concern though is this.... I got it all over my fingers and finger nails and I struggled to get it off. I literally had to scrub it off with a scrub brush. So.... When I go to wash my completed quilt, what is going to happen to the spray? It is NOT going to wash off/wash out. Will it get all Gummed up? That is my concern with the June Taylor spray.
