Just spray basted a 60X60" lap quilt. I HATE crawling around on the floor for a multitude of reasons... sore knees, too clumsy, dog fur (no matter how much I sweep before I start), the dogs automatically think the new quilt is their new napping place... I could go on but you get the picture I am sure!

Tonight I had a flash of brilliance... why not tape the backing to the wall instead of the floor!? I don't have a lot of places in this house where I can do that but I think the laundryroom will do just fine!!

I am trying it in the morning with a tree skirt that I am dreading trying to get it layered and I'll tell you how it goes!

I'm with you on the sore bod. If the wall thing works let me know I'll clear off a wall and try it myself. Good idea

Also, how do you keep it from getting on the floor/wall? I have to put newspapers all around the edges. That stuff isn't easy to get off the floor!!

Here's my report:

Took me 15 minutes to baste this table runner. No pain, no dog hair, no sweating!

Based on previous events, I think it cut the time in half and probably cut the aggravation down to 5% of what it was to do it on the floor.

Looking forward to doing more!

I used blue painter's tape so it won't mark the new walls!

The batting stuck well could be re-positioned and pulled!

Here's the bargello stuck to the batting. Very happy!
