I have a dry iron that does not take any water. I love using it when I use starch.

I like a little steam, but I too use a spritz bottle. I have an inexpensive Black and Decker iron that I LOVE because it gets nice and hot, but it sputters and leaks all over if I put water in it.

I have 5 of those old dry irons that I've accumulated from thrift stores over the years. Originally, I used them to iron linen tablecloths because the newer steam irons just didn't get hot enough to remove the wrinkles. Does anyone remember the Belgian Linen cut work dresser scarves, napkins and tablecloths?? They didn't get easy to iron until they were at least 10 or 15 years old  . Now I keep a spray bottle of water handy to press everything. I'm hoping these irons will last the rest of my lifetime!
