I am quilting a baby quilt that I used spray baste on to hold the layers together. I had no problem quilting most of the quilt until my needle broke and I started using a smaller needle with a smaller eye. The needle's eye kept gumming up from the spray baste, which would eventually fray the thread and break the thread. After breaking the thread three times, I switched to a larger needle with a larger eye and finished the quilt successfully. Has this ever happened to anyone else? It was frustrating, but a good lesson.

I've never used the spray baste but did learn valuable lesson with fusible web and machine applique and sticky needles-- Lite weight web, big needle and bottle of rubbing alcohol to keep needle clean after using wrong web!

Wow, the rubbing alcohol is a great tip. Thanks!
