I too suffer from "foot in mouth disease". I wrote an explanation on the threading before I read Smitty's retraction!

I hope this helps.
Someone on another message said that some of the information here isn't correct, like on her model 15. Sorry about that. I didn't write it, just listed it to look at.

So, your machine still isn't forming stitches?

Step 1 - Let's find out for SURE what kind of machine you have. :) Is it a Singer? If so, follow the steps at this page, answering the questions about your machine at each step of the way and you will eventually arrive at a marker that tells you what model you have.

You could also post some good clear pictures of the machine - front, face, (nose) back and from the top looking down on it. Make sure that the bobbin cover plate(s) show in at least one of the pictures. If you can take clear close-up pictures of the bobbin, bobbin case and serial number, that would be really helpful.

The serial number is easy to misread - the first or last digits can often be filled and obliterated with gunk or worn away. A strong raking light and a magnifying lens are very helpful here.

Let's figure out what you have before we do anything else. :)
